Podere Fortuna is a company located in Mugello, north of Tuscany, at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines. The company, founded in 2001, is one of the first in this area to produce Pinot Noir. A particular vine with a complicated production, it finds in this territory the ideal microclimate for its maturation, thanks especially to the important day-night temperature range that occurs during the summer period. Over the years, the attention to quality and to the control of every single production aspect have become fundamental aspects of our production: from the selection of the grapes during the harvest to the desire to use the least possible filtration and clarification techniques in order to preserve the typical elegance and the expressiveness of Pinot Noir. Our wines start from a challenge and end up representing a territory still to be discovered.
Greto alla Macchia 2018
IGT Bianco Toscana – Chardonnay 100%
The harvest is manual in small boxes, during the harvest we proceed with the manual sorting of the bunches and berries to have a greater quality control.
After pressing, the wine ferments and ages in French oak barriques.
After aging in wood, a period of rest in steel follows, to obtain a natural clarification, and 3 months of aging in the bottle.
Greto alla Macchia is a long-lived white, with a rich bouquet of fruity hints of tropical fruit and vanilla.
Even on the white we use natural corks precisely because it is a wine that can age in the bottle for a few years.
